When I’m craving a proper morning treat in Nashville, Yeast Nashville is hands-down one of my absolute favorite spots to visit, and it’s a must-mention in any well-rounded Nashville Guide.
I’ve been going there for years now, and honestly, every single visit reminds me why this place has become such a beloved fixture in Nashville’s bakery scene.
There’s something genuinely special about walking into a cozy bakery that smells like fresh-baked pastries and knowing you’re about to have an incredible breakfast.
It’s places like this that inspire me to keep exploring the city for WavyNashville.com — little moments, warm bites, and the true Nashville charm I love sharing with others.

Yeast Nashville Locations: East Nashville & Donelson
- East Nashville Address: 805 Woodland St #300, Nashville, TN 37206
- Donelson Address: 2713 Lebanon Pike, Nashville, TN 37214
The original Yeast Nashville location sits on Woodland Street in East Nashville, and this is where I’ve spent most of my mornings. I can’t count how many times I’ve made the trip there.
The interior is fairly compact and cozy, with limited seating available. Most people who visit are grabbing their pastries to go, which keeps the line moving pretty quickly even during busy morning rushes.
Now, if you’re expecting an Instagram-friendly bakery with elaborate photo ops and trendy decor, I need to set your expectations. Yeast Nashville is definitely not that kind of place.
The focus here is 100% on producing exceptional baked goods rather than creating a picture-perfect atmosphere. And honestly? I think that’s what makes it so authentic and charming.
In February 2024, Yeast Nashville opened their second location in Donelson. While I haven’t personally visited the Yeast Nashville Donelson location yet, I’ve heard nothing but positive things from friends who live in that area.
According to what I’ve heard, there’s the same constant stream of happy customers just like at the East Nashville spot, which tells me the quality and service are just as excellent.
What Makes Yeast Nashville Special?
Let me tell you what drew me to Yeast Nashville in the first place—kolaches. If you’re not familiar with them, kolaches are these amazing Czech pastries that became hugely popular in Texas thanks to Czech immigrants who settled there back in the 1800s.
The LaViolette family brought this Texas tradition straight to Nashville in 2013, and I’m so grateful they did. Nashville isn’t exactly known for kolaches, but after one bite at Yeast Nashville, you’ll wonder why not.

I’ll be completely honest with you—before visiting Yeast Nashville, I had no idea what a proper kolache was supposed to taste like.
But after trying theirs, I was absolutely hooked. The slightly sweet, yeasty bread is the real secret to their success, and it’s obvious that everything is made fresh every single morning with genuine care and attention.

Kolaches
The star of Yeast Nashville is its kolaches, a beloved Czech-Texan pastry. The menu includes three core varieties:

- Tex-Czech Style ($4.75) — savory choices like sausage & cheddar or jalapeño sausage & cheddar.

Outside of espresso, the shop serves drip coffee, iced coffee, tea, hot chocolate, soda, and juices, mostly priced between $2.00 and $5.50. Overall, the drink prices are typical for a specialty café, offering both value basics and premium lattes.
Tips for Visiting Yeast Nashville
Here’s what you need to know before you visit. Yeast Nashville is open from 7 AM to 12 PM every single day. Yes, they’re only open until noon, so plan accordingly. I’ve learned this the hard way—showing up at 12:30 PM won’t work!
There’s nearly always a line, especially on weekend mornings, but don’t let that scare you off. The line moves quickly because the staff is efficient and friendly.
They order and payment system is streamlined—you’ll need to order and pay online, then you’ll receive a text when your order is ready for pickup. Some people find this system a bit unusual, but I actually think it makes the whole process faster.
The staff will ask if you want your order as-is or heated, which I think is a nice touch. I usually get mine heated because there’s nothing better than a warm kolache first thing in the morning.
Why Yeast Nashville Reviews Are So Positive
After visiting Yeast Nashville countless times over the years, I completely understand why the Yeast Nashville reviews are overwhelmingly positive.
This is a local favorite for good reason—the food quality is consistently excellent, the prices are fair, and there’s a genuine sense that the people behind the counter care about what they’re making.
Whether you’re a Nashville local or just visiting, I can’t recommend Yeast Nashville enough. It’s become one of those spots I genuinely look forward to visiting, and I think once you try it, you’ll understand exactly why there’s always a line out the door.
You can check out the full menu and order online at their website, yeastnashvilleorderonline.com. Trust me, once you try these kolaches and pastries, you’ll be planning your next visit before you even finish your first one.
